Chris Pratt is mourning the loss of one of his farm animals, a giant 700-pound boar named Magnus.

The “Avengers: Endgame” actor paid tribute to Magnus in an Instagram post. “Our magnificent gentle Tamworth giant fell ill and passed away two days ago,” he wrote on Thursday, April 25.

“This was a hard one. He was as cuddly as a 700lb boar could be. We’ll miss him,” he added.

He also added some humor to the tribute, saying that he would miss seeing the giant boar rooting “for hazelnuts in the hay.”

People shared their condolences for Pratt’s loss on his Instagram post.

“Rest in paradise Magnus,” one person wrote.

“You do such a good job of sharing Farm life with us!! Thank you!! Ever so sorry for the loss of the big guy!!” another person commented.

Another commented, “Bless his heart…we have large black hogs on our farm and we have one about that big…our boar is a big baby.”

Love of Farm Life

Last year, Pratt opened up about his newfound love for farm life, including fishing and raising cattle. He often shares photos on social media of himself and his son Jack as well as fiancée Katherine Schwarzenegger at the Washington farm spending time with various farm animals.

Recently, he posted about all the sheep he has, captioning the post, “Still trying to figure out exactly how many sheep we have. Every time I try to count them, (I get close to a hundred-fifty or so) I end up falling asleep. Damn near ran over Katherine with the tractor.”

“Lucky! I miss being in the country, so peaceful and relaxing,” one person commented.

Meanwhile, another person had a suggestion for Pratt’s problem with counting sheep. “Just call the avengers to help you count them…” the person wrote.

In January, Pratt posted about how one of his sheep had won an award for her wool at the Country Living Expo’s Fiberpalooza at Washington State University.

“I hate when celebrities brag on here… but I have to,” he captioned a post of her wool on Instagram. “Our ewe (female sheep) named ‘Cacao’ just took home a blue ribbon at Fiberpalooza!!!! Boom chic-Cacao cao!”

A lot of people commented on the post that they would love to buy the wool and if Pratt would consider selling it to them. It’s unclear if the “Jurassic World” star ever responded to the offers.

Aside from sheep and his giant boar Magnus, Pratt also shared his love for his new addition to the farm—a longhorn cow named Baby Girl.

“Love at first sight,” he captioned the photo of the longhorn. “This good lookin lady is from the great state of Texas. She’s adjusting quite well to life on the farm. Welcome home Baby Girl!”

One person commented, “I knew she was a Texas girl cause only the prettiest longhorns come from my home state TEXAS!! You’ve got ya a good one for sure.”

“She’s not only unique looking but beautiful,” another commented.

Another wrote, “Oh. My. Gosh. I NEEEEED her, like 20 of her. Or more. My goal in life is to have some long horns. I love my Herefords but long horns are just so beautiful!”
