China Increases Defense Budget by 7 Percent, Changes Wording on Taiwan

During Beijing’s “Two Sessions” meetings, the Chinese premier broke away from standard language in his speech. Different than usual, he left out the term “peaceful reunification” when describing the regime’s ambition to take control of Taiwan as Beijing announced it would boost defense spending by over 7 percent this year.
