CDC Expects Safe Vaccine Within Months

Dr. Jay C. Butler, deputy director for infectious diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said: “One of the beauties of Operation Warp Speed is we’re not waiting until we have all the studies completed and the reviews done before we start the production process. It may be that we find, for instance, that a vaccine is not effective, and that’s a vaccine that ultimately is not going to be administered to Americans.”
