Capitol Report (July 5): Major US Cities Marred by Gunfire; Another Rate Hike Coming Soon?

Police have captured the suspect of the 4th of July parade shooting in Illinois and have him in custody.

In the city of Chicago alone, 71 people were shot and 8 killed over the weekend, but the politics are being focused on the 4th of July shooting that took place in Chicago’s affluent suburb where six were gunned down. Could more gun laws be soon to follow?

The United States and China discussed hot-button issues. It comes as President Joe Biden weighs lifting some tariffs on Chinese imports with the argument that it may ease inflation, while others are concerned about ceding leverage to the CCP.

Americans have just experienced the most expensive July 4th holiday in recent history, and analysts at JP Morgan say there is a possibility the cost of oil could triple in the near future. Vice president at the Texas Public Policy Foundation Chuck DeVore joins us to discuss.
