Shen Yun Performing Arts wrapped up its first three shows in Salzburg, Austria.

“Wonderful, what they’re doing there is unbelievable,” said Alexander Müllenbach, a renowned composer and conductor.

“You can say it’s a potpourri for the senses,” said Frank Walz, a professor at Salzburg University.

Walz waited two years to see the performance. He bought the tickets for his wife’s 50th birthday.

“[Shen Yun] incorporates elements including color, music, aesthetics, and physical expression, and it’s actually an all-encompassing experience, a spiritual experience. We came here and we got everything we wanted,” he said.

“The whole group exudes a very balanced and harmonic energy that makes people feel that they are one,” said Karin Fischer, an artistic director for a dance production in London.

She flew back to Austria just to watch Shen Yun with her mother.

“The performance was very memorable for her and we enjoyed it. The dancers were precise and acrobatic. Their dance movements were very exact. The backdrop and the music were also impressive and extraordinary,” Karin said.

“Outstanding. The music was great. High praise goes to the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra,” said Wilhelm Gollowitzer, who owns his own company. “The artists performed sincerely. It was unequivocally impressive! The artistry and choreography were outstanding. It was a wonderful experience.”

Every year, Shen Yun brings out all-new, original orchestral compositions, with a unique mix of Eastern and Western instruments.

“Shen Yun’s music emphasizes tradition, and that is what’s needed to accompany such a spectacle,” Müllenbach said.

“I think what’s particularly wonderful is that [Shen Yun] brings to life history and the culture of ancient times, and how people used to cherish these traditional values, such as mutual respect and loyalty,” said Paul Kwapil, a former corporate executive.

Over the past decades, the Chinese Communist Party has systematically uprooted traditional beliefs and values. And Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s lost culture.

“The encounter between one another that is felt by watching the performance creates a spiritual experience,” said Walz.

“I would recommend [Shen Yun] because it doesn’t matter what you expect when you come here,” he added.
