The remains of Cyclone Debbie are wreaking havoc on the east coast of Australia. Flood waters have destroyed bridges and blocked roads. Tens of thousands of people had to be evacuated.

The total damage area stretches 612 miles, from Queensland, through the Gold Coast, and into New South Wales. One hundred thousand homes are without power. Residents climbed onto their roofs to await rescue crews, but some could not yet be reached due to the weather and flood conditions.
