Assemblyman Ron Kim Leads 2nd Annual Advocacy Day for Small Businesses

Flushing, NY- Today, Assemblymember Ron Kim hosted members of the Korean-American business community for a day of advocacy in Albany.

Representatives of various community and business organizations visited on behalf of their members and the wider Korean American business community of New York. Citing a decline in small businesses across a diverse array of industries, representatives met with Assemblymembers Kim and his colleagues, including Assemblymembers Braunstein, Rozic, and Vanel as well as State Senator Stavisky.

They began with an introduction to the Assembly Floor, followed by meetings with various lawmakers as they pressed for greater understanding and consideration of the difficulties faced by New York’s working-class entrepreneurs.

This year’s lobby day was attended by representatives from the Korean American Chamber of Commerce, the Korean American Business Council of New York, the Murray Hill Merchants Association, the Korean American Dry Cleaners Association, and the Korean American Nail Salon Association.

Representatives spoke with legislators about questionable unilateral mandates or regulations that have left many business owners looking for opportunities outside of New York.
