A former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has drawn criticism for comparing the Capitol protest to the destruction of Kristallnacht. He referred to a Nazi attack on the Jewish population in Germany back in 1938 that resulted in the arrest of about 30,000 Jews and the destruction of hundreds of synagogues.
