Apple Announces iPhone 11, Other Product Updates

Apple announced the new iPhone 11 stainless steel and glass design with a dual camera system at Steve Jobs Theater on Sept. 10.

The new phone can now shoot in wide and ultra-wide modes with 12 megapixels. It also has a night mode for shooting in low light.

The device comes in six colors: purple, yellow, green, white, black, and red.

The company also announced the iPhone 11 Pro, featuring a telephoto camera on its device. It comes in two sizes, 6.5 inches and 5.8 inches, and four finishes.

Both shoot video in 4K at 60 frames per second. The videos can now also be edited on the device.

The new A13 bionic chip makes processing faster for rendering video and animation. Its low-power design maintains the phone’s battery life better.

In addition to the new iPhones, the company also announced Apple Arcade for subscription gaming. Starting Sept. 19, over 100 games would be accessible in over 100 countries at the App Store for $4.99 per month for a family subscription.

With Apple TV+ people can watch Apple original movies and shows starting Nov. 1.

The new iPad OS has a few more capabilities and features. At 10.2 inches of retina display, it has 3.5 million pixels and a wider viewing angle. In terms of user interface, the on-screen keyboard can float and shrink to be moved around to view more of the screen. Users can easily take notes with the Apple pencil. Made of 100 percent recycled aluminum, the device starts at $329.

The company also announced Apple Watch Series 5 with a screen that never goes dark. Users can still see the time and other features after putting their wrist down. The company announced its watch is participating in three new health studies, which people have the option to report their statistics to.

The new Apple Watch can also make international emergency calls.

Preorders for the new iPhones start this Friday and shipping starts Sept. 20.
