When did this distrust begin?

Let’s look at the Gallup polls from 1972 to 2020 on “American’s Trust in Mass Media.” One can see that after the late 1960s and early 1970s, people have no longer trusted mass media as they used to.

What caused the rising distrust?

To examine the causes, we will look back on events that took place 60 to 70 years ago, not only in the United States but also around the world.
