A deadly shooting in Detroit on Sunday has left a 19-year-old man dead. Police are looking for two suspects.
The shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the area of Bates, near Cadillac Square.
According to Fox 2, the Detroit police say this all happened “when two groups got into some sort of argument, that’s when someone opened fire, killing the 19-year-old man.”
Police are requesting help from local residents to identify the men. They say the suspects were inside a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Michigan plate of EMK8273. The police have identified one of the men and released a photo of the other: a man in dark glasses and a black T-shirt.
A local resident interviewed by Fox 2 remarked that shootings are uncommon downtown and that the area is usually safe. “Who knows what happened at 3:30 a.m. in the morning … but otherwise, I feel secure downtown,” he said. “I’ve lived down here 21 years and I have no problem. I come down near every day.”
The Detroit Police Department announced that the unnamed person “should be considered armed and dangerous.” The police investigation is still ongoing and they are asking for help from those who have information.
