Over 130 protesters were arrested on the New York University campus overnight after demonstrators refused to vacate the area. Clashes became violent as bottles and chairs were thrown at police.

Protests also continue at Columbia University, where critics are calling for university president Minouche Shafik’s resignation. NYC Mayor Eric Adams stated at a news conference Tuesday that unrelated parties outside the student body were taking advantage of the chaos to incite violence. Unrest and protests continue both on and off campuses across the country.
